I'm asked all the time: "Why do I have to pay a hosting fee?" Just like you pay rent for your store, hosting is the rent for your website. My next favorite is question is, "Can you fax that to me?" I'm sorry, but who faxes anymore?
I don't have cable television, the landline is long gone, and I go to my post office box about once a week. I work from my kitchen table, sofa, or coffee shop at the end of my street. Admittedly I still have a file cabinet, but I've been weaning the contents and it's pretty close to moving on. And I like to pay with my phone at Starbucks.
I love coming up with analogies for my clients to help them transition into digital. But even with all this change, two things remain the same for businesses: Your brand identity and excellent customer service. The great thing about digital it there are more platforms to promote and achieve! Social media is the conversation, people are paying with their phones in lieu of cards, and you can watch tv and listen to radio on devices just about anywhere. I can't wait to see what's next!
